Recent advances in liposuction have led us to routinely perform what is referred to as the "Tumescent technique” where we infuse quantities of highly dilute anesthetic solution into the operative area. This liquid helps to disperse the fat, significantly reduce the blood loss and permits easier removal of more fat than would otherwise be possible.
In addition, post-operative bruising is greatly reduced, recovery is much faster and the whole experience is more comfortable than in the past.
Better understanding of the science, finer instruments and advanced technique has made liposuction more safe & effective.
Ultrasonic and power assisted liposuction are additional tools to the conventional technique indicated in certain special situations where fat is more fibrous and difficult to remove.
