It involves a smaller incision placed just above the pubic hairline to remove excess skin, tighten the muscles if needed, and carefully close the incision with buried, self-absorbing sutures, so suture removal is unnecessary. Discomfort is mild and easily controlled with medications and recovery is quicker. This procedure can be performed in selected situation under local anaesthesia with sedation.
